THE skaters of Ely Artistic Roller Skating Club showed great promise when skating in their first competition of the year. The skaters spent the weekend of February 17 and 18 competing in the Spring Solo Dance Competitions at Herne Bay. Competing against many of the top dance clubs in the country, the standard was high, with several of the skaters getting through to the final rounds of their heats. On this occasion, however, it was only Nancy Allen and Ellis Hennebry who came home with a bronze medal for their duo dance.
