Cycling Ely and District Cycling Club’s Matt Eley missed out on a podium place by just a second at the Norwich ABC 10 on Saturday.
Raced on the Harleston to Bungay course, Eley posted a time of 22 minutes and 40 seconds to finish in fourth place out of the 58 starters – just a second off of third.
Eley, along with fellow club riders, Glen Clark and Colin and Celia Whitechurch travelled to Wortwell to take part in the event on Saturday.
Winner on the day was Charles Nurse, from North Norfolk Wheelers, who posted a winning time of 21 minutes 24 seconds.
Ely’s Glen Clark finished in 25:15, Colin Whitechurch in 26:39 and Celia Whitechurch in 31:37, taking second place in the ladies section.
