Cottenham United suffered a horror result on Halloween and continue to hover over the relegation zone in the Kershaw Premier League after falling to a 3-1 defeat against West Wratting.

Brett Wyman scored United’s only goal of the game and Tyler Phillips was sent off as Cottenham lost for a seventh time this season.

Defeat sees them occupy thirteenth position in the league table, only two points above Brampton in sixteenth.

Ely City Reserves also suffered a defensive horrow-show, conceding four goals and losing 4-2 to Milton in the William Cockell Memorial Cup.

Dominic Hunt and Ed Richardson scored for the Robins’ reserves, but they shipped four goals and crashed out of the competition.

Somersham and Soham United (pictured) clashed in Kershaw Senior A, playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw which sees the two sides remain on fourteen points.

Burwell Swifts needed extra time in the Percy Oldham Memorial Cup, eventually beating Bar Hill Saturday 4-2 to seal a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Lee Carman scored twice, Tom Williams and Lee Reed both netted to secure Burwell’s win.

In Kershaw Senior B, Witchford 96 found their scoring boots and beat Bluntisham Rangers 4-0.

Littleport Town were in NMC 1B action, and secured an impressive 5-2 victory over Eaton Socon Reserves, with goals from Charlie Bowditch, Danny Gibbs, James Linney and a double from James South.

Fordham were also victorious after they won through to the next round of the County Junior Challenge Cup with a deserved 3-1 victory at March Town Reserves.

Fordham were the better side in the opening half but they fell behind after conceding a 40th minute penalty.

Within 3 minutes, Fordham drew level when Graham Ford headed in Josh Bailey’s superbly flighted free kick.

With 20 minutes left, Fordham struck again when Will Tyte’s free kick was thumped home in style by Jordan Theobald.

The visitors wrapped it up when Graham Ford scored his second of the match in the dying minutes.

In NMC 2B, Little Downham Swifts remain at the top of the league after they beat Bar Hill Saturday Reserves 4-3 in a thrilling encounter.

Lewis Chambers came off the bench to score twice, and further goals from Harry Thomson and Sam Ashman saw the Swifts extend their lead at the top of the league to two points.

Ely Crusaders, however, lost footing at the top of the table after being held to a 1-1 draw by Mildenhall United.

Soham United Reserves also dropped points after drawing 2-2 with mid-table rivals Mepal Sports.

Isleham United took advantage of the Crusaders’ slip up and moved to within a point of them after they demolished Wisbech St Mary A 6-0.

NMC 4B league toppers Isleham Warriors were in John Ablett Cup action, and carried their winning league form over to the cup with a 9-2 hammering of Hundon Reserves.

Witchford 96 Reserves exited the same competition, dramatically losing 3-2 after extra time against Benwick Athletic.

Adam Cook and Liam Allgood scored for Fordham Reserves in their 2-1 victory over Wisbech St Mary C, sending them up to third in the NMC 4B.

Ely Crusaders Reserves booked their place in the next round of the Reg Haigh & Arthur Peck Cup by beating Needingworth United Reserves 3-2.

They could meet Burwell Tigers in the next round, after they made short work of Wicken Athletic, beating them 4-0.

And finally, in NMC 5B, Chatteris Town B and Cottenham United A played out a six goal thriller, drawing 3-3.
