Soham United will meet Outwell Swifts in the semi-finals of the William Coad Intermediate Cup after a 2-1 triumph over Whittlesford United.

The Kershaw Senior A side will meet Outwell in the last four of the competition after the league leaders made swift work of lower-league Witchford 96 with a commanding 6-1 victory.

Littleport Town were also in knock-out action, conquering Steeple Bumpstead in the quarter-finals of the Creake Charity Shield.

Littleport needed extra time to overcome the home side, with goals from Charlie Bowditch, Sam Murfitt and Will Rolls securing a 3-2 win and a place in the last four.

Fordham were one of very few sides in league action over the weekend, coming out on top in an eight-goal thriller with substitute Alex Watson coming on to score two crucial goals in a 5-3 win over Swavesey Institute.

Fordham took the lead on 13 minutes when Reece Peacock scored from Jamie Crawley’s centre but Jimmy Watson’s unfortunate own-goal enabled the visitors to draw level.

Despite Fordham’s second half pressure, Swavesey took the lead with 20 minutes left before Alex Watson levelled with a fine shot.

Adam Cummings put Fordham in front with a header from Reece Theobald’s cross and Alex Watson scored again to make it 4-2 .

The goal flurry continued with the visitors reducing the arrears but Jordan Theobald’s strike completed the scoring, with six goals scored in the final 20 minutes.

The three points for Fordham takes them to 20 for the season, and despite being in sixth, they are two points behind second-placed Eaton Socon Reserves in the NMC 1B.

In the league below, Isleham United crept past Mepal Sports in a thrilling clash, with both sides receiving a red card in a sevel-goal classic.

Mepal’s Harry Braybrooke and Isleham’s Josh Almond received their marching orders as Isleham ran out 4-3 winners, thanks to a brace from Andy-Drew Brown.

Isleham’s narrow has seen them climb to third in NMC 2B, only four points behind league-toppers Houghton & Whyton.

Two leagues below, Isleham United Reserves and Fordham Reserves shared the spoils after a 1-1 stalemate.

Isleham took the lead before Fordham had an effort ruled out but Liam Allgood’s strike enabled the visitors to snatch a point in what was their first draw this season.

Finally, Witchford 96 Reserves were more fortunate than their first-team counterparts after crushing promotion rivals Isleham Warriors 3-0.

The victory for Witchford’s second-string saw them climb to within three points of the Warriors, who sit in second in the league.
