LITTLE Downham bounced back from defeat at Somersham last week with a resounding eight wicket win over Granta III.

Sent into the field first, Downham lacked their normal dynamism with the ball and, aside from a respectable 2-48 from R Palmer, they could only restrict their plucky opposition to 204-4 at the close.

With a hefty five an-over needed for the win, Downham needed to score consistently from the first over. Where scoring runs has proved a problem in weeks gone by, there was no such quandary on this occasion as the visitors forged ahead.

Superb knocks of 55 and 58 by G Martin and G Dewsbury respectively made sure Downham sailed to 205 for the loss of just two wickets.
