The course, running along the A142 to the Lancaster Way Roundabout, attracted dozens of cyclists last Saturday, with some travelling from as far as Guernsey, and Cambridge CC’s David McGaw took first place with a time of 20 minutes and 43 seconds.

Matthew Eley was the fastest Ely club member, finishing in fourth in a time of 22 minutes and 15 seconds.

The following day, Derek Ricketts, John Manlow and Tom Sykes travelled to Essex for the Shaftesbury CC 25-mile Middlemarkers TT.

The afternoon proved to be a fruitful one for Derek and John, with both recording personal bests with times of 56 minutes and 14 seconds and 57 minutes and 49 seconds respectively.
