County Dressage Championship places for talented King’s Ely riders
King’s Ely equestrian team experienced yet more success at the end of last month after qualifying for the NSEA County Dressage Championships.
Two teams and one individual represented the school at the county qualifier held at the College of West Anglia in Milton, Cambridge on the 30th January.
The team of Eleanor Fairey, Thea Holdaway, Phoebe Plumb and Rebecca Everitt all rode the British Dressage Preliminary 12 in the first class and British Dressage Novice 24 in the second class.
A second place in the preliminary class resulted in a qualification for NSEA County Dressage Championships at Bury Farm in April. There were also individual successes for Eleanor Fairey and Thea Holdaway, who came fourth and sixth place respectively.
The team won the Novice class, with individual successes again for Thea Holdaway, who achieved a fifth place and Phoebe Plumb who secured sixth place.
Freia Gould won the novice class, and has qualified as an individual for the Championships.
Sue Cameron, team manager at King’s Ely, said: “King’s Ely will be representing Cambridgeshire in four classes at the County Championships in April which is quite an impressive achievement from a small group of riders.”
