DROPPED catches proved costly for Wilburton as they lost out by six wickets to a ruthless Doddington side.

Put in to bat first, Wilburton continued their resurgent form of last week and solid middle order knocks from Andy Buller (44) and Tom Walker (38) helped the visitors to a decent total of 167-5.

Buller in particular impressed for Wilburton as his determination to push the scoring rate on, saw him carve into the Doddington attack, collecting four fours and a brace of sixes before he was bowled.

Opportunities came thick and fast for Wilburton in reply but a series of dropped catches saw the chance to put pressure on the home line-up slip away. Though Paul Dewey (2-28) nipped out a couple of early wickets, Wilburton found it hard work making in-roads into the middle order and Doddington eventually knocked off their total in 32 overs.
