Chris Foulds (23) and Nick Poole (39) opened up with a 56-run partnership before Jordan Theobold weighed in with 45 and Luke Bowers (38*) as the hosts posted 197-5 at the close.
Witcham made a positive start but they lost their last seven wickets for just 40 runs as they were dismissed for 114.
Simon Murfitt (3-14), Martin Hancock (3-23) and Luke Bowers (2-12) were the wicket takers.
