WITCHFORD started slowly and Walpole took a deserved lead.

An equaliser quickly followed from Davie Thompson finishing a good passing move. Walpole again took the lead but Matthew Loades headed home to equalise. Despite lifting their game, Witchford again went behind in the second half and for the third time quickly equalised this time through Matt Ashman. Both teams created good chances to win the game, Walpole being kept out by excellent goal keeping from Nathan Parker. Witchford finally took the lead as Matthew Loades finished well and secured the win when Loades completed his hattrick.

LITTLEPORT netted the first goal taking Mepal by surprise after only a minute.

A corner taken by Elliot Martin resulted in the equaliser for Mepal. Littleport regained the via a fortuitous deflection. During the second-half Littleport took possession of the ball and made the score 3-1. Mepal worked hard but were unable to stop Port running in two more goals before end.

WITCHFORD started well and soon took the lead as Spencer Saberton's shot found the bottom corner.

Ely rallied to the setback though, and were soon level. A link up between mid-fielders produced Witchford's second and Tommy Corlito made it 3-1 minutes later.

Connor Meads registered early in the second-half to give Witchford some breathing space before Ely netted their second of the game. Witchford were unfazed however, and wrapped up the win through Dan Stead and Corlito.

WITCHFORD quickly took the lead with Tom Matcham heading the ball home. Girton fought back well and equalised before half time. Witchford played into the wind and rain and struggled to make ground in the second half and Girton took the lead with a well taken goal. However, Witchford kept up their efforts and were rewarded when a cleared corner fell to James Everett who drilled the ball home for the equaliser.

Port played host to another A-league team on Sunday in the second round of the League cup.

Port created some chances early on but could not score. Histon had their own chances but some good saves from Josh Brown kept them out. The tie came down to penalties for a spot in the quarter-finals and the win was secured by Callum Mackender
