Isleham Utd 2
ELY Crusaders will take a two goal lead into the second leg of their cup fixture, after late goals secured a 4-2 home win.
The away team broke the deadlock midway through the opening half as the ball bounced back off of the Ely keeper to present the Isleham forward with a tap in.
James Barrett fired Crusaders level and, boosted by the goal, Ely poured forward allowing Barrett to net his second. A defensive mix up saw Isleham back into the game but Barrett calmly converted his third, to claim a hat-trick and an Isleham own goal late on sealed the win.
Witchford Colts 3
A TOUGH first-half allowed Isleham to take the lead early on, but Witchford battled well with Ruairidh MacDonald equalising.
Isleham scored three more during the second half and Witchford's keeper made some great saves to stop Isleham scoring more. Witchford kept battling and Matthew Ashman and Davie Thompson scored just before the end to mark a spirited fight back. Man of the Match went to Matthew Loades and George Thoday.
Witchford were unlucky not to get something against an impressive Hardwick team. Good passing play early on couldn't be converted into goals for the visitors and the home team broke away to take the lead at half time.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Witchford playing good football and being frustrated by the home keeper. Near the end of the game Hardwick broke away to wrap up the points
