WITCHFORD returned to winning ways after defeat at Newmarket last time out. Once Jordan Emms had made the break-through in the first period the goals came at regular intervals with Max Loker scoring one and Jack Sheridan with a fine solo effort, scoring the first of his two goals.

Soham fought hard but could not penetrate Witchford's defence and, at the end of the first quarter the score stood at 4-0.

Goals from Henry Green, Emms, Loker and Patrick Ryan took the score to 8-0 in the second period and, although Soham kept coming forward in search of that elusive goal, Witchford's defence stood firm.

Loker then completed his hat-trick with a fine goal, taking his season's tally to an incredible 53 and contributing to another good win for the Colts.

Ely Crusaders 4 Witchford Colts 0

ELY Crusaders took an early lead as Sam Felton swept home from close range.

With Jay Spittles, Felton, and Lewis Hook working hard in the Ely midfield it was eventually Hook's square pass which allowed Thomas Funnell to drive home from the edge of the area for Ely's second.

Sam Scarborough then finished well to make it 3-0 at half-time, and a late James Barrett goal finally moved Crusaders four clear.

Ely Crusaders 5 Godmanchester A 3

ELY Crusaders were on the attack from the start, winning early corners from which they failed to score until Jon Bartlett found the back of the net.

Ely scored their second from a Callum Byrne free-kick, Cowlan finishing well.

Just before the half time whistle an attack by Godmanchester saw the first shot saved by Males, but the rebound found the feet of an opponent who scored.

The second half saw more attacks by both teams in a fast paced game.

Ely scored their third through Farr, but an attack by Godmanchester saw their striker run with the ball to reduce the deficit.

Cowlan scored his second for 4-2 however, and Bartlett scored his second and Ely's fifth before Godmanchester made the final score 5-3.
