With the Ely forwards pushing the Bury pack back, a quick pass out to fly-half Pete Willey secured a try and conversion.
However, Bury were quick on the counter-attack and found a gap to score a try.
Bury handled the ball on the floor illegally and Willey kicked the penalty and put another three points on the score board for the Tigers. Then an error in the Ely defensive line resulted in a try for Bury.

ELY travelled to Bury St Edmunds for a hard fought evenly-matched game in the mud and rain.
The first try went to Ely via Dougie Stuart who scored in the corner.
However, from this point the game swayed towards the home side. The first half had ended 7-5 to Bury but three tries from them in the second half with no response left the score at 22-5.
Ely held their discipline in this game and looked dangerous but they simply could not get enough fast ball to release the three-quarters.

Ely played host to a strong Shelford under-12 team.
Jimmy Adams opened the scoring, and then Henry Baker picked up and drove through the middle to dive over the line.
Ryan Clarke linked well with scorer Miles Orvis to create the third try with a powerful run into the corner for a 21-0 win.
In a second match Ely Tiger-12s won 21-0 again with Miles Orvis (2) and Liam Cooper scoring for Ely.
ELY Tiger-Nines hosted local rivals Shelford on a typical winter's day.
In the first match Ely drove forward through the half-backs with good ruck support.
In the second half such a rucked ball allowed Oliver Bailey to sprint clear and score.
Shelford fought back and scored despite valiant tackling from the Ely team with Callum Luker excelling. The result was a hard fought 5-5 draw.
The second game was similar to the first and a score of 0-0 would have been a fair result. However with virtually the last play in the second half, Shelford slid in for a try and a 5-0 scoreline.

Shelford Under-8s 40
SHELFORD started well, and despite tags by Ashley Clark and Joseph Shirley, took a 10-0 lead.
Joseph Shirley ran through and as he was tagged offloaded to a supporting William Hurst to score. A good passing movement culminated in Aaron Shergold scoring.
However, Shelford scored again to lead 15-10 at half-time. Shelford ran in a quick try before Shirley crossed the line to reduce the difference to 20-15.
Shelford scored twice but Mark Parry scored to make it 30-20. Shelford scored two quick tries and the Tigers replied through Ruairidh Macdonald.
Ely Tiger-Sevens played two matches against Shelford Under-Sevens.
Matthew Foy ran all the way to score first for the Tigers, and then Maddie Bailey added a second.
Shelford scored with an excellent try, but from the restart Maddie Bailey ran straight through for a fine try.
Despite good tagging Shelford scored again.
In the second match Shelford scored first, the Tiger-sevens replied through Matthew Foy after a weaving run from Callum Augustas, and scored again through James Everitt-Carr.
Ely scored from the restart through Matthew Foy, but Shelford came back strongly and scored before Lawrence Whitworth replied for the Tigers. Then Foy scored the last try of the match.
