LITTLEPORT Cricket Club held its annual ground maintenance day recently to prepare their pitch for the upcoming season.

Work completed on the day included repairs to the sightscreen, trimming the square, weed-clearing and killing and preparing the machines for the upcoming season.

We also were visited by a local welder who came to repair the club’s sightscreen that was damaged in the bad weather in January last year causing it to snap in half.

This year Littleport Town Cricket Club will field a single team on Saturdays in the CCA Junior League 4A and the club will also be travelling the length and breadth of mid-Norfolk on Sundays.

Club development officer Alex Cann, said: “The aim of the Sunday side is to develop players in a friendly but competitive environment to ensure we have a strong set of well rounded cricketers, many of them youngsters, for years to come.

“This presents an ideal opportunity for those of you who perhaps miss team competition and club involvement that you enjoyed when you used to play cricket.

“If you have a youngster who shows an interest in playing cricket please get in touch with us via youths@littleportcc.com or follow the club’s progress at www.littleportcc.com.”

If any business or individuals wish to get involved with the club, playing or providing

sponsorship, they should contact Alex Cann on development@ littleportcc.com
