ELY City started their pre-season with a friendly against an in form Whittlesford side.
City gained promotion to Division A for the coming season and, with new management, hope to play some exciting football at a very high level.
On a wet Sunday afternoon City started well and new signing Ed Dickinson got their first, with the help of a defensive error, and, from then on, they never looked like
losing the game. New captain Sean Flack lead by example and dominated the centre of the park.
Ely's second and third goals were created by Sam Ashman with some fine runs down the right of the pitch, crossing to the reliable and very quick Ryan Lane.

The newly formed back four played some fine football and never really looked like letting Whittlesford through.
It was a pleasing result and prepares them for a tough but exciting season ahead.
