ELY City lost out to a well-drilled Peterborough side in a tough encounter on Saturday.
Despite having the majority of the play throughout the game City failed to find the finishing touch past an experienced Peterborough team.
Ely might have come away with an extra two points but for their honesty which, despite forcing the ball into the Peterborough net, saw them own up to a foul in the build-up play and the goal was chalked off the slate.
Finally, as the game appeared to be heading for a draw, Peterborough forced their one and only short corner home to take all three points.
Ely entertain Ipswich on Saturday and hope to return to winning ways against a team currently in the relegation zone of Division 2N.
