Archant

Ely swimmers Ciara Taylor and Iona Trainer made their county proud by swimming to success over Norfolk and Suffolk in the Three Counties Gala in Norwich.

Competing against some of the region’s best swimmers in the competition on Sunday March 6, Ciara won her 10 years 50m Freestyle race in style, swimming to victory in a super-quick time to earn herself a place at the East Region Championships.

Iona represented Cambridgeshire in both Freestyle and Breaststroke, impressively coming third in her 12 years 100m Freestyle race.

The Ely duo also starred in a number of relays that helped Cambridgeshire finish as overall runners-up, just behind Suffolk.

Ciara and Iona swim with the Ely Barracudas, who are travelling to Boston this weekend for the first round of the Fenland League.
