Husband and wife team, Andrew and Rosemary Borland, completed their final act as Captain and Ladies Captain of Ely City Golf Club by presenting a cheque for £12,345.67 to their chosen charity, the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Andrew said that it had been a pleasure to organise the fund-raising events and that everyone had given very generously throughout the year.

He and Rosemary were overwhelmed by the support they had been given by all club members.

Christopher Donaldson, who received the cheque on behalf of the Air Ambulance, thanked Andrew and Rosemary for their hard work and said that thanks to support such as this, a new helicopter has just been purchased to give an even faster and more efficient response to difficulties across the region.
