Soham Tn Rangers 1 Woodbridge 0
AN OUTSTANDING performance from Scott Carter in his new central midfield role inspired Soham to victory in a scrappy match.
Carter, who usually plays up-front or on the wing, drove play forward from the middle of the park as both teams struggled to cope with the heavy Julius Martin Lane pitch.
Midway through the first half Brett Claydon's deep cross was nodded down by Andy Furnell into the path of Carter and, after a neat first touch, he finished well.
Charles Libam spurned several chances to increase Soham's lead and the Woodbridge keeper denied Michael Simpson from three one-on-ones.
Soham's next match is at CRC on Wednesday.
