LITTLEPORT Badminton Club recently won the South Cambridgeshire Third Division Mixed League Badminton Trophy.

This is the first trophy for Tim Neaves, captain of the club for more than five years, and his team, including Linda Neaves, John Clarke, Karen Sabell, Norman Ferguson and Sue Mongatti.

Neaves expressed his delight at the prospect of playing at a higher standard: "This is a great achievement for the club and it's given us a real boost. It's going to be a tough season next year as we'll go up a division, but playing against a higher standard of player will help us to improve our game even more."

Littleport Badminton Club welcome new players of all abilities and they play every Thursday at Littleport Leisure Centre, from 8pm. For more information, call Debbie Walters on 01353 615840 or go to www.littleportbadminton.co.uk
