THE first round of this season's Cambs Youth League was sailed at the Cam Sailing Club on Saturday with a light fluky wind.

Thirty six under 18s sailed three races in fleets ranging from National Twelves and Lasers to Optimists.

Ely Sailing Club's Nicholas Copsey crewed by Luke Lazzel in a National Twelve finished third overall.

Jack Knight in a Topper won the Under 15's prize and finished first in the Topper Fleet. Jack Cammann came second in the Topper fleet and his brother Jamie was fifth.

There was only a small turn out at Roswell Waters on Sunday but a full programme of races was completed. Eric and Clare Christan sailing an Enterprise convincingly won the class races and the second Handicap race, but they lost their line honours in the first race on corrected time.
