HUNTS PREMIER CUP SEMI-FINAL
Ely City 0 Biggleswade United 1
CITY boss Dennis Lightning has called on the people of Ely to fill the Unwin Ground on Saturday, when a win would secure promotion.
The last kick of the game on Tuesday, a volley from just outside the box after a free-kick was headed out, denied Elya cup final place.
But Lightning, who fielded a weakened side with Saturday's match against Hadleigh United in mind, remained unconcerned.
He said: "I was quite relieved when the goal went in, as we were heading for extra-time, which is the last thing we need with Saturday's crucial match.
"Three points from our final two games of the season would guarantee promotion to the Premier Division, and we really need a big turn-out to act as a 12th man. I'll make sure the lads are fired up and we should put on a great show.
