GEORGE Rayner was the star performer as Mepal turned in one of their best performances of the season.

Rayner scored a remarkable 10 goals with some deadly finishing, but this was a real team performance from the home side.

In midfield, Kassem Lloyd (2) and Shane Whatley gave goalscoring support to Rayner. Harrison Jones completed the scoring for Mepal.

WITCHFORD were really up for the final game of the season and led 3-0 at half time, thanks to a hat trick by man of the match Sam Rasdall.

All the Witchford boys contributed to a flowing, passing game and further goals from Carl Lightfoot, Jamie Woor and Rasdall, completed an emphatic victory.

Little Downham Eagles 4

THIS was a confident, accomplished performance from Eagles in their last game of the season.

They took the lead in the first minute when David Nicoll scored with a close-range header.

This was doubled midway through the half when Dylan Minar hit a low shot from distance which went under the keeper's body.

Eagles started the second half in similar vein to the first, Nicoll scoring again immediately after the break with a shot from the edge of the box.

Ten minutes from the end, Ezra Collins beat a couple of defenders and finished well for Eagles' fourth goal.

Littleport Town 3

Newmarket Town 2

PORT finished off their season in style at home to Newmarket and certainly made it a game both players and supporters would remember.

Port worked hard from the kick-off and a good run and cross by Joseph Murfitt saw Ashton Oakes put the home side ahead.

Although Newmarket pressed forward, Port's determination paid off when Thompson crossed the ball and Oakes scored his second.

Both sides continued to work hard after the break and with just a few minutes to go Newmarket scored twice from corners to level the game.

Thompson took the ball from his half and found Murfitt, who crossed it for Oakes to finish off his superb hat-trick and win the game for Port.

Ely Crusaders A 10

Soham Town A 1

DESPITE a very slow start Ely still managed a dozen shots on goal within the first eight minutes, but it was Soham who took the lead when their number 10 blasted it in from the right.

This soon woke up Ely and moments later Oliver Bailey weaved his way down the right and smashed it into the far side of the goal to level the score.

Ely then had the biggest cheer of the season as Fraser Crossman scored - after a brave goalmouth scramble - to give Ely the lead.

Ryan Dean and Luke Brown played some neat one-twos in the corner with Dean finally pinging the ball past the Soham keeper to make it 3-1. Dean then followed up with a solo effort to make it 4-1.

Liam Walker then came out of goal to grab a goal for himself after Brown had made it 5-1.

Ely then really piled on the pressure and played some fantastic football, finishing the game in style with four goals in four minutes. Jordan Rowsel scored first and then set up Dean to complete his hat-trick. Luke Brown then also completed his hat-trick, taking Ely's total goal tally for the season to 123.

Witchford 11 Sutton 0

WITCHFORD completed a fine season by winning their last game in comprehensive style.

Conor Loker led the way with four goals, James Edwards hit a hat-trick and there were two goals each for Spencer Saberton and David Mayle.

n Witchford avenged their only defeat of the season at the hands of Newmarket by winning the Newmarket Tournament on Sunday.

They finished runners-up in their group, putting them in a semi-final against Withersfield, who they dispatched 3-2. They then played the host team, winning 3-1 to take the trophy.

Ely Crusaders 7

Stretham Sporting 4

ELY started slowly but showed great spirit against a good Stretham team.

Ely went two goals down in the first quarter but battled back with two goals from Max Wright in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Christopher Lewis scored for Ely to squeeze in front. With Stretham showing great resolve they scored twice to restore their lead.

Into the last quarter, Finley Logan scored twice more to earn another win in the last match of the season.

Littleport Town 4 Mepal Sports 1

MEPAL took the lead early on with an outstanding shot that rebounded off Littleport goalkeeper Ollie Jennings into the net.

Littleport stepped up the pace as Harry Morton scored his first of the game, before adding a second. He completed his hat-trick with a deflected corner. The final goal came from man of the match Thomas Deverell, set up by Jamie Harvey.

n Littleport lost on penalties in the final at the Newmarket Tournament on Sunday.
