FORDHAM II went down by six-wickets against a strong Burwell outfit on Saturday.
Chamilla Priyankara (54) and Cy Philp (45) began well for Fordham batting first, and the home side found themselves on 125-2 midway through the innings as Burwell struggled for wickets.
The introduction of a series of slower bowlers triggered a quite alarming collapse however, and Fordham lost seven wickets for just 37 runs as they finished on 190 all out.
Burwell’s Josh Vowden collected 6-40 in a mesmeric spell.
Phil Bowers opening the innings for Burwell in their reply and his quick-fire 50 quickly saw them in to a commanding position.
Bowers was finally dismissed for 84 - made in just 14 overs - but his good start was complimented by Oliver Williams who made 69 to guide his side to victory with just four wickets lost.
