Bumper weekend for young skaters

DESPITE soaring temperatures it was another successful weekend for the skaters of Ely Artistic Roller Skating Club as they competed at the Tyne Tees Tournament near Newcastle.

DESPITE soaring temperatures it was another successful weekend for the skaters of Ely Artistic Roller Skating Club as they competed at the Tyne Tees Tournament near Newcastle.

Competing against a host of competitors from clubs based around the UK, the skaters once again rose to the fore and brought home a commendable haul of 10 medals.

Jessica-Ellen Ball starred for the club as she won a gold medal for novice solo dance. Silver medals were won by Sarah Ford for prelim solo dance, and Sophie Woodbridge for bronze solo dance. Megan Bidecant (novice free), Amber Miller and Lucy Page (novice duo dance) and Emma Taylor and Sophie Woodbridge (inter-silver duo dance) also picked up silver medals. Bronze medals were won by Amber Miller for novice free, Jasmine Page for novice solo dance, Emma Taylor for inter-silver solo dance and Jasmine Page and Megan Bidicant for novice duo dance.
