A SUCCESSFUL night of boxing at the Eastern Counties Championships saw victories for two of the region's brightest up and coming boxers.

Haddenham ABC's Tyler Goodjohn was in action against Bill Wooders of Chalvedon ABC in the under-70kg category and came through with a majority decision to book his place in the national quarter finals in May.

There was victory also for All Comers' Alfie Smith in his under 60kg bout with Haddenham ABC's Jesse Smith, the judges awarding the All Comers' puncher a unanimous decision.

Both fighters will now go forward to the quarter-final event where they will come up against representatives from London and the home counties in Clacton, Essex.
