EAST HOCKEY LEAGUE DIVISION 3NW
Ely City 1st XI 1 Cambridge Nomads 2nd XI 1
BOTH sides dropped their first points of the season but remained level at the top of the table.
The hosts took a 10th-minute lead through a short corner, with Ed Batt deflecting the ball home.
The prolific Hugo brothers narrowly missed the target and Fez Abbas and Laurie Haslop created problems down the flanks.
The fit Nomad's side always posed a goal-threat and Rich Vincett and Tom Rutledge worked tirelessly in front of Ely keeper Chris Vincett, to ensure Ely maintained their 1-0 lead at the interval.

But Nomads equalised just minutes after the re-start.
The game continued at a relentless pace with Ed Batt and man-of-the-match Stu Clarke charging down every ball in the middle of the park.
Full-backs Abbas and Grant Gilmour shut down the visitor's attack and continued to feed the ball into the midfield, but Nomads held out to the whistle.
