SUTTON Rangers under-8s football team presented Mark Youngs with a man of the match medal to thank him for raising £276 for them by completing the Bedford half-marathon.
Mr Youngs, whose son George plays for the team, recorded a time of a time of 1hr 52mins 22sec.
Sutton Rangers have secured three grants - Local Network Fund, East Cambs District Council development grant and Football Association grant.
Together with Specsavers and David Frear Plumbing sponsoring the kits, local business have also sponsored balls, first aid kits and donated raffle prizes.
Since starting with around 12 players, the club now regularly has about 40 children at training.
The club has under-8s and under-9s teams, and will also under-7s and under-10s next season.

Children are welcome to train with Sutton Rangers on a Monday night from 5.30-6.30pm, for the under-7s, and 5.30-7pm for all other ages.
