SOHAM Town Rangers have brought in two new players for next season.

Defender Mark Atkins, who used to play for the club, has signed from Warboys Town and striker Scott Carter has joined from Wisbech. Soham manager Ian Benjamin has previously worked with Carter when he was the manager there.

Benjamin said yesterday: "I know both of these lads and I'm sure they will fit in very well here. They are both excellent players with great attitude's and they will both bring a lot to the team."

Most of last season's squad have already re-signed, with the exception of Martin Bromwich and Andy Furnell, and they are both expected to sign within the next few days, and Steve Bugg who has moved to Bury Town.

Benjamin added: "We had a tremendous team spirit here last season and I wanted to make sure that the majority of the squad re-signed before I went out looking for new players. That's all cleared up now so I can concentrate on bringing in a couple of new faces to bolster the squad."

Attacking midfielder Matt Robinson is undergoing an operation and is expected to miss between six and eight months of the season.

Soham have also announced their pre-season fixture schedule which is as follows:

13/7 Littleport (away), 15/7 Blackstones (away), 22/7 Swaffham (away), 27/7 Ely City (away), 29/7 Deeping Rangers (away), 1/8 Yaxley (away), 3/8 March (away.)

Season ticket application forms are now available from the bar at the social club on Julius Martin Lane.
