The East Cambs Warriors Basketball Club is hoping to find the next crop of local sporting talent by launching an under 12s team.
The side – the club’s fourth – will be open to both boys and girls of any ability between the ages of nine and 11.
Head coach, Rob Knapper, said: “An under 12s team was always in the picture. The county is lacking in age teams under 12 so we hope that the age we get them at will encourage them to enjoy the sport and commit to it.
“As coaches, we concentrate on teaching the fundamental skills first and then develop the players from there.
“We also hope to be able to send some of the players to county trials next season.”
Training will begin on Monday June 19 from 6.30pm until 7.30pm at King’s Ely Sports Hall.
The first session is free, and sessions thereafter will cost £3.
