A depleted Burwell II were trounced by 182 runs by relegation-threatened March Town.

Batting first, the hosts racked up 261-6 against a side missing a bunch of players due to holidays. Joshua Vowden (3-46) took half the wickets to fall.

In reply, Burwell II crumbled to 79 all out. Gwilym Davies top scored with 19.

East Anglian Premier League

Burwell’s bowlers produced a fine collective effort to put their side in control of their clash with Vauxhall Mallards ... but a weak batting effort saw them lose by 20 runs.

Alastiar Allchin (4-34) and Josh Arksey (3-18) were on top form as Vauxhall limped to 135 off 59.1 overs.

Burwell’s chase began disastrously - they found themselves 6-4. Ben Seabrook came in and made 66 but Burwell fell short of the modest target.

Tucker Gardner Division Two

Fordham kept their promotion hopes alive with a 25 point haul and an 89-run victory over Weston Colville.

With just 13 points separating five teams, the promotion race will go to this weekend’s final round of matches.

Luke Duplooy (40) and Chris Summerskill put on 55 for the first wicket but three wickets then fell for 10 runs.

However, Josh Sivier (21) and a fine partnership of 70 between skipper Mark Abbott (39no) and Tim Sale (23) hoisted Fordham to 164-7 from their allotted overs, a respectable score on a damp pitch.

The visitors began solidly, putting on 20 for the first wicket. But Charlie Forden (3-34), Chris Reay (3-6), Jason Harding (2-22) and Luke Duplooy (1-2) ripped through the rest of the order and Colville were bowled out for 75.

CCA Junior Division 1N

Fordham II lost their final game of the season by four wickets but they are promoted along with their opponents, champions Histon II.

Fordham made 164-8 with Gavin Harding scoring a fine 74 but Histon II’s senior players made the difference with both Dixon and Wright scoring half centuries as the visitors got home.

Littleport lost by nine wickets to Cherry Hinton. Ishmeet Singh Arora top-scored with 44 for Littleport in their 132 all out, which their opponents knocked off with ease.

Sutton beat St Ives II by 20 runs. Sutton posted 163-9. St Ives II replied with 143 all out.

CCA Junior Division 2N

Isleham lost to Cambridge Granta III by eight runs. Isleham’s bowlers restricted Cambridge Granta III to 123 all out, but Isleham were dismissed for 115.

Little Downham suffered an agonising two run loss at Fulbourn II. Fulbourn II made 136-7 off 40 overs. Little Downham, with five wickets in hand, finished on 134.

CCA Junior Division 3N

Haddenham lost by seven wickets to Chatteris II. Nigel Taylor (33) top-scored in Haddenham’s 135-8.

CCA Junior Division 4N

City of Ely II chased down Isleham II’s 107 all out to win by nine wickets.

CCA Junior Division 5N

Duncan Foyle hit a half century (59) in Sutton II’s 152 all out, which Longstanton Grasshoppers knocked off for the loss of just one wicket.
