THE City Of Ely Netball Club hosted its end of season presentation night for junior members last Thursday.

The evening marked the end of a competitive first junior netball season and all the girls were commended for their netball skill and enthusiasm.

Laura Butcher was awarded the players’ player award and received a trophy.

As part of the event, an adult charity netball match was organised, collecting donations for Ely Foodbank in lieu of a players match fee. Cathy Wright from Ely Foodbank dropped by to collect the long life goods which players and juniors had brought along.

The good humoured match between the two City squads resulted in a win for Team 1, who beat Team 2, 41-19.

The club is holding a taster evening for adult players on July 18 from 7.30pm at the outdoor courts at King’s Ely. If you are interested, contact
