SOME of the region's best archers competed in the East Anglian Archery Championships, at Littleport Leisure Centre, on Sunday.
The championships were brought to a premature end by strong winds but the junior and senior competitors battled hard to hit their targets.
The shoot, normally shot over 12 dozen arrows, was abandoned after seven dozen arrows and the conditions badly affected the archers' performances before results were declared.
Host club Ely Archers featured in several classes of competition. Kevin Jacobs scored 415 in the gents' recurve class, with 76 hits and two tens.
The score put him 12th in the final standings with Paul Anthony, from Fenland Archery Club, in Whittlesey, heading the list with a score of 604.
The gents' compound competition was won by Botolphs' Chris Clancy who shot 669.
