THERE is still time to sign-up for much anticipated Aquathlon.

The event, the first of its type in Ely, is for eight to 16-year-olds, is free of charge, and no specialist equipment is needed.

Aquathlon is suitable for competitors of all abilities and involves a swim of 100m (four lengths) followed by a 800m run around the King's School playing field.

The youngsters will be competing for medals, provided by Specsavers, and every entrant to complete the course will also receive a free souvenir pen.

Aquathlon will run alongside Ely's first ever Triathlon Relay, with members of Ely Swimming Club, Ely Cycling Club and Ely Runners competing. There will be lots to see and do for all the family. As well as a barbecue, refreshments from Starbucks and an ice cream van; there will be a climbing wall, a bouncy castle and Q103's Black Thunder will provide music and commentary to keep everyone informed of the competitors' progress.
