LITTLEPORT Lions are looking for new players to get involved in their new and exciting korfball team.

The Lions, who have had success both nationally and internationally, are hoping to recruit players of all standards, and to educate the public about the exciting world of korfball.

Korfball is a game which draws upon aspects of basketball, netball and handball. It was invented in 1902 by a Dutchman named Nico Broekhuysen. An unusual aspect of the game is that players can participate in mixed gender sides.

Korfball is played on a court which is similar to a basketball court, and two teams of four players attack each other's basket. Two of the players attack, and two defend, switching positions after two goals have been scored.

The Lions are looking to recruit players for both the junior and senior teams and training takes place at Littleport Leisure Centre on Tuesday evenings from 9pm til 10.30pm.
