Witcham won by three wickets

ELY started well enough, batting to 64-4, but a batting collapse resulted in five wickets falling for only 31 runs.

Ed Aniskowicz (28) and King (26) were the top scorers as Ely were bowled out for 127.

Stuart Hare took 4-28 to lead the Witcham attack and he was supported by Chris Houghton (2-25) and Graham Holden (2-10).

Witcham faced early pressure from Ben Storey (3-34), Michael Beeby (2-19) who helped to reduce the visitors to 56-7. However, Lloyd Few put the visitors' reply back on course with a score of 58 and Witcham reached their target with three wickets remaining.

Fordham v Cambridge St Giles

Match drawn

THIS thrilling match went down to the wire with both sides pushing for victory in the final over.

Cambridge dropped three catches as Fordham openers Chris Rule (47) and Mark Silcock (22) took advantage to get off to a good start.

Matt Foulds continued the good work with 62 and Neil Clark (32) boosted the Fordham score to 219 all out.

Clinton Cornwell claimed an early wicket for Fordham but Ben Potter (73) and Paul Saunders (58) played superbly to put their side in a strong position.

But the introduction of Rule turned the game as he dismissed both batsmen and set up a thrilling finish.

Two run outs swung the game Fordham's way but neither side were able to claim outright victory in this last ball thriller and Cambridge St Giles finished on 215-9.

Fordham took a maximum of 16 bonus points to St Giles' 12.

CCA Senior League Division Three

Little Downham v Girton

Girton won by 70 runs

GIRTON put on 45 runs for the first wicket and maintained their form to set an imposing target.

Floyd Robinson top scored with 80 and was supported by Chris Cooke (40), Matt Hobbs (49) and Robin Biggs (35 not out) as Girton scored 300-8.

The pick of the Little Downham bowlers was Peter Baker who returned 3-36. Ryan Duffield and Gary Dewsbury took two wickets apiece.

Little Downham slumped to 56-3 but Duffield's brilliant 96 not out, together with 40 from Phil Cornwell, gave them hope.

But it wasn't enough and Little Downham reached 230-8.

Girton's best bowler was Dean Stacey who finished with figures of 2-46.

Burwell II v Littleport I

Littleport won by 26 runs

LITTLEPORT picked up a vital win as they seek to avoid relegation.

Terry Stone's excellent 54 attracted support from Gary James (31), James South (23) and Patrick Frost (26 not out) as Littleport scored 166.

Daniel Bowman (3-32) was the most productive Burwell bowler.

The Burwell response began badly when Gavin Jones was caught for a duck but Paul Summerskill (26) and Mark Estall (50) put the game back in the balance.

But Littleport's bowlers dug in and Chris Lupson (4-15), Patrick Frost (3-31) and Steve Tuck (2-22) helped to dismiss their opponents for 140.

Sutton I v St Ives II

St Ives won by four wickets

SUTTON found the going tough against an in-form St Ives side.

Paul Day (29) proved to be the top scorer as the home side struggled to 123-9. Four Saints bowlers took wickets and Ramsey led the way with 4-24.

The visitors' response began badly when the dismissal of Hunt and Dack left them on 17-2.

James Nuttall (4-28) kept up the pressure as St Ives limped to 57-6 but the visitors got back on track.

Hunt (52 not out) and Ramsey (25 not out) steadied the ship and helped St Ives to 124-6.

CCA Junior League Division Three North A

Wilburton v Chatteris II

Wilburton won by five wickets

VISITORS Chatteris succumbed to sensational bowling from Wilburton and were bowled out for a lowly 72.

Only Nick Street (11) made double figures as Darren Bentick (3-15) and Richard Jacobs (3-19) tore the visitors' batting order apart.

Wilburton got off to a shaky start, losing four wickets for 18 runs under the pressure of Chatteris' Matt Barnes who took three wickets in one over.

But an undefeated stand of 49 between Andy Buller (30 not out) and Tony Jacobs (14 not out) saw Wilburton to the points in the 22nd over, finishing on 75-5.

Isleham II v Burwell IV

Burwell won by 97 runs

A BRILLIANT innings of 131 and four wickets from Graeme Neilson helped Burwell to a fine victory.

Robert Smith also made 37 as the visitors reached 265-7. James Norman (2-33) was the pick of the Isleham bowlers.

The Isleham reply began well when Darren Diver crafted a good knock of 61 but there was little support from the rest of the order as the home side slumped to 168 all out.

Neilson was once again outstanding as he took 4-22 and Joshua Vowden also bowled well to return 3-15.
