A host of junior Swimmers from the City of Ely Amateur Swimming Club (EASC) have made a splash at the Fenland Open Meet by winning 30 medals.

The Ely swimmers won 14 gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals at the meet, which took place at March Marlins Swimming Club on May 28.

More than 90 personal best swimming times were also achieved by swimmers to cap off a hugely impressive outing and set of performances.

EASC head coach, Elaine Hill, said: "Congratulations, what a smashing time our athletes competing achieved.

Up against more than 10 swimming clubs across Cambridgeshire, Peony Jackson, 9, won the Overall Top Girl Trophy across the whole of the meet and the overall trophy for her age group.

Despite some events featuring more than 70 swimmers, EASC boasted many other great swim results, with Megan Clarke winning the 14 years age group and Erin-Mae Carey winning the 16 years age group.

EASC also had four swimmers competing at an open meet for the first time.

In their first open meet, Lorelei Clarke, Rosa Hague, Wilfred Sole and Isabelle Clasby all achieved personal best swim times.
