Ely Tigers were in dominant mood to end their home campaign by winning one cup and booking a final spot in another.

Tigers hosted St Ives won the annual Percy Walker Cup while simultaneously reaching the Cambridgeshire Senior Cup final thanks to a 66-7 win at Cambridge Commodities Park on April 1.

Luke Turner’s try gave Ely the lead, which was quickly doubled when Matt McCarthy picked up Paul Dewey’s pass to kick forward and convert his own pass.

Mitchell Kennett added Ely’s third try, McCarthy added his second before St Ives crossed over just before half-time.

Ely extended their lead through Jake Alsop, as Jimmy Storey scored a try when he powered over following the restart.
