Riders as young as four-years-old took to the saddle for Ely & District Cycling Club – B&T Motor Repairs. 

Members took part in the seventh round of the Eastern Cyclocross League at the Norfolk Tank Museum near Norwich at the weekend before last. 

Ely cyclist John McAndrew fought back from an earlier fall to finish in 48th in the V50 race; Neil Bowman came 9th and Ferenc Vanhoutte finished 40th in the V40 category. 

In the junior category, Isaac Barton came 8th while Tom Lewis won the youth race for a second time this season.

Kieran Vanhoutte claimed 18th in the U16 category, as Lucas Bowman crossed in 13th in the U14 class. 

Luca Portaluri took top spot in the U8 boys’ event at the Muddy Monsters race near King’s Lynn on November 13.

Freddie Henry finished fourth in the U10s race, while Beau Havis and Cora Portaluri, aged four and five-years-old respectively, rode strongly in the boys’ and girls’ U8 races.
