THE momentum from last week's wholesale success for Littleport carried over into this week as both teams found success once more.
The first team led the way as they held out to secure victory by just a single run over an impressive Burwell side.
Asked to bowl first, Port found it tough going against a determined Burwell attack who smashed their way to a six-an-over haul of 272 runs from 45 overs.
Port shone in reply and though they found themselves reduced to their last pair, they held firm to secure the win with an over to spare. The ever impressive Scott Connop (79) and J Leonard (41) did much of the damage for the home side.
The Buxton's were the stars of the show for Littleport 2nd XI meanwhile as their efforts with both bat and ball ensured a comfortable eight wicket win over Sutton.
Asked to bowl first, Port took to their task as a bird to flight and thanks largely to the efforts of L Buxton (24-4) and Doug Marsh (3-28) rolled Sutton for 145.
A Buxton took the plaudits in Port's reply as his unbeaten knock of 82 ensured Port sailed to victory in 24 overs.
In Port's West Norfolk League exploits meanwhile, youngster B Shipp dazzled the unsuspecting batsmen of Bircham as he collected (6-9) to help the home side to a 59 run victory.
