LITTLE Downham promptly banished the memories of last week's defeat to Needingworth by inflicting a crushing 114 run defeat upon Bottisham and Lode.
Keen to bat first to put some runs on the board, Downham's sinuous stroke-play soon had the visitors on the back foot and, led by a masterful knock of 132* from Peter Baker, they fired their way to 245-4.
Phil Cornwell's middle order knock of 50, key in forcing the scoring rate up past six an over.
Buoyed by a superb batting performance, Downham's bowlers took their chance to shine and soon had the visitors reeling.
J White's excellent 10 over spell saw him collect 5-38 and ensured Bottisham were dismissed for just 131.
