LITTLEPORT 1st XI led the way for the club at the weekend as they notched up a fine 82 run win over Saffron Walden.
Brady Stone was the hero on the day for the team as his combined efforts with both bat and ball took the game away from a plucky visiting side.
Put in to bat first, Port scored effectively throughout the order, but it was Stone who seized the mantle, smashing his way to 87 to help the team on to 219 at the close.
Stone came to the fore once again with the ball, stealing the limelight from P Morris who notched up 3-34 to collect 5-16, a superlative average of just 3.2, the pace duos efforts seeing Saffron bowled out for 137.
