A CLINCIAL performance by Burwell saw them score an excellent seven wicket victory over Littleport.
Asked to bowl first, Burwell performed like a team-possessed as their bowlers tore into the Port top order. M Yates in particular impressed, taking 4-15 to put Port under pressure early on. All was not lost for Port though, as J Leonard (36) rallied to help the home side on to 70 at the close.
Having impressed with the bat, the momentum was with Leonard and he picked up a brace of early wickets to keep the home side in with a chance of victory.
The arrival of Summerskill (26*) and M Chinery (21*) changed the complexion of the match however, and Burwell sailed to victory with no further glitches.
