ST Ives ace Lee Desborough claimed victory in Ely Cycling Club’s final 25-mile time trial of the season.
Desborough, fresh from his victory in last week’s 10-mile Mepal time trial, stormed home in an impressive time of 58mins 43secs.
A quartet of Ely riders fought out a close contest with only 19 seconds between them, Cliff Loveday coming out on top in a time of 1hr 3mins 1sec. Geoff Brewster completed the course in 1hr 3mins 20secs, having finished 64th in the 126-mile Tour of Britain race only 48hours earlier.
In the shorter 10-mile race, Nick Waterfall took top honours in 24mins 16secs, with Kelly Van Der Toone close behind in 24mins 24secs. Colin Whitechurch was the fastest Ely & District rider in 25mins 10secs and Jesse Jacobson was a creditable fifth.
