After the game, manager Wayne Lockwood tweeted: “Football can disappoint you. Today we played some great stuff first half then two mistakes. We need to punish teams.”
Soham United’s game with Fenstanton didn’t go ahead because Fenstanton couldn’t field a team.
In Senior B, free-scoring Burwell Swifts carried on their blistering start to the season with a 7-0 win over West Wratting Reserves.
Josep De Pfeiffer made it 12 goals in five games with a hat-trick, with Carl Saxby also hitting a hat-trick. Aaron Carman completed the scoring.
Witchford 96 lost 2-1 at Sawston Rovers.
In NMC 1B, Littleport Town kicked off their season with a 3-2 win at St Ives Rangers.
In NMC 2B, Scott Dews struck four times, with Matt Brodie also on target, as Ely Crusaders beat Brampton Reserves 5-1.
Lewis Chambers, Jeremy Cutter and Nathan Cox scored as Little Downham Swifts beat Wisbech St Mary A 3-1.
Mepal Sports lost 2-1 to Soham United Reserves.
In NMC 3B, Burwell Swifts Reserves drew 2-2 at Alconbury Reserves. Littleport Town Reserves lost 8-1 to The Eagle.
In NMC 4B, Fordham Reserves lost 6-1 at Doddington United, Isleham Warriors beat Hemingfords United A 3-2 and Witchford 96 lost 1-0 to Wisbech St Mary C.
In NMC 5B, Manea United Reserves lost 6-2 to Ely Crusaders Reserves, while Wicken Athletic were thumped 21-2 by Guyhirn.
