Laura Todd ended a wait of nine years to take her second Ely City Golf Club Ladies Championship title.
Todd defied a 16th-round mistake to edge out 13-year-old Ella Mason and Tina Broadley to take the title for the first time since 2007 at the city course last weekend.
In her winner’s speech, Laura thanked her playing partners and acknowledged that Ella’s time will come and spoke about the golf battles that she has had with Tina over the years.
Meanwhile, Anne Webster and Vivienne Parr were forced to share the title of Mortimer Cup winner with the duo both finishing the competition on Nett 78.
Ely City golf co-ordinator, Mark Smith, said: “It was a great score from both ladies who have either graduated through the taster ladies program or had lessons from our assistant professional Paul Geen.”
