AFTER a strong finish before the Christmas break the Fillies were back to reality this week with a 4-0 defeat to Godmanchester. While the score does flatter the home team, they were deserved winners in a match where the hardy spectators and players saw rain, sleet and snow. The girls of both teams should take credit for their performance on a full size pitch and full size goals.
Godmanchester were 2-0 up by half-time, although the second goal was shrouded in controversy. Fillies goalkeeper Megan Goldsack looked to have pulled the ball back just before the goal-line but the referee allowed the goal.
Goddy doubled their advantage after the break.
