The season seemed to get better and better for Ely Rugby Club.
The Tiger-12s became one of the feared teams to play, whilst the Tiger-10s became South Coast Festival champions.
The youth teams produced a number of county players - Jack Brownlee, Andrew Jones, Sheriden Mead and Lawrence Middleton for the Tiger-14s, Lewis Jenkins and Carl Turpie for the Tiger-15s, and Andrew Kearney for the Tiger-16s.
The seniors had three teams for the first time in some years, and the second team won the Greene King Premier Cup. Daniel Coulson, Tom Jackson and Lee Kupyn played for the full county side.
The best was left to late in the season, however, as Kearney was awarded the JD Motts Cup for Cambridgeshire Youth Rugby Under-16 Foremost Development at the youth county dinner and Lee Kupyn was awarded the Dicky Jeeps Cambridgeshire Player of the Year at the senior county dinner.
Tom Jackson and Kupyn had the well-deserved honour of playing in all the Eastern Counties games against Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Notts, Lincs and Derby.
