Ely Kings Basketball Club enjoyed a slice of cake on Wednesday evening when they made a special thank-you presentation to the club's coaches.
A big boost to the club just a few months ago was the appointment of former American professional basketball player, Ben Johnson, as coach. This was followed with the appointment of Brian Liston-Clark as coach for the under 14s section. Both coaches have made a fantastic difference to the development of the players as well as taking the pressure of club secretary and coach Sean Scullion who founded the club in September 2005.
To mark the appreciation of the hard work put in by the coaches, two special cakes iced with team photos from each section of the club were presented to Johnson and Liston-Clark on Wednesday night at the end of training.
Pictured are some of the club members along with Brian Liston-Clark and Ben Johnson holding the cakes.
Anyone interested in joining the club can do so by checking out the website at www.elybasketball.co.uk or contacting Ed Mullenger or Sean Scullion on 07952 717604.
