ELY AND DISTRICT BOWLS LEAGUE ROUND-UP

Men's League
ONLY one-and-a-half points separate the top three, with Newmarket, Littleport and Isleham leading the way.
Soham A dropped to fourth, losing at Ely Beet B, who are now level with them on points.
City of Ely won on all rinks at Fordham but both clubs, having gone down in their opening three matches, have found the form to reach the top half of the table.
Ladies' League
Fordham and City of Ely fought out a draw but the remaining games all had a 5-0 scoreline.
Isleham's three-shot advantage at Soham B kept them at No.1 but Haddenham's fifth victory in a row puts them into the runners-up spot. Newmarket are third by virtue of shot difference, just one better than Fordham.
Afternoon League Division One
TWO more wins for Soham increased their lead over Littleport B, who were held to a draw at Burwell but whitewashed Willingham - the only team in the division without a win so far.
After narrowly escaping relegation last year, Bottisham A are enjoying a better season in third place, followed by Littleport A. Next are Burwell, whose seven-and-a-half points enabled them to slip above Haddenham A, who did not play.
Afternoon League Division Two
Fordham B's unbeaten run continued in their attempt to return to Division One.
Despite losing on two rinks to Sutton, the winning margin on the other rink was enough to see them home by one shot, widening the gap at the top to seven points.
Newmarket B strengthened their promotion bid with two home victories against Fordham A and Cottenham and they have a game in hand. Haddenham B's first success at Ely Beet failed to improve their position.
